Separate the Investment into Cost Buckets

Avoid asking for one plant price before the boundary is defined. Build a cost model with separate buckets and mark each as supplier, buyer or third-party responsibility.

Machinery capacity should follow a documented sales and operating case. A factory concept is stronger when the project team can explain who will buy the water, which packages will be sold and how finished packs will move to market.

Keep the Machinery Plan Separate from Local Compliance

The machinery proposal can define process and equipment interfaces, but local product registration, water-source approval, building, electrical, food-safety, labor, environmental, import and labeling obligations require review by the buyer and qualified local advisers. Record these actions in the project schedule instead of assuming a machinery quotation covers them.

  • Identify the local authority and required product or facility approvals early.
  • Confirm which laboratory tests and records are needed for the intended water product.
  • Review building, drainage, electrical and worker-safety requirements locally.
  • Check label content, coding, recycling or packaging obligations for the destination market.
  • Keep local compliance decisions out of unverified supplier assumptions.

Should I choose the machine before the building?

Develop them together. The line needs a feasible building and utility concept, while the building layout depends on equipment scope, material routes and maintenance access.

Can I get an exact plant cost from capacity alone?

No. Water treatment, bottle production, labeling, packing, building, utilities, freight and service can change the investment boundary substantially.

Do I need raw water analysis before equipment selection?

It is important for treatment planning. The filling line handles finished water, while the upstream process must be selected against the source and local requirements.

What should be ready for commissioning?

The site, utilities, drainage, bottles or preforms, caps, labels, packing materials, operators and agreed test conditions should be ready before startup.

Should I validate sales demand before choosing BPH?

Yes. Translate base and peak demand into saleable bottles per shift, then allow for cleaning, changeovers, stops and growth. This gives a more useful capacity basis than choosing the largest affordable machine.

Can a new factory start with purchased PET bottles?

It can, when local bottle supply, transport, storage, quality and cost are workable. In-house blowing changes capital, utilities, floor area and operating skills, so the two routes should be compared as complete systems.

What documents should be ready before ordering equipment?

Prepare the approved product and format list, equipment boundary, layout basis, utility list, responsibility matrix, quotation comparison, technical offer, commercial terms, test plan and open-point register.

Does the machine supplier handle local factory permits?

Do not assume so. Local product, facility, building, electrical, environmental, labor, import and labeling requirements normally need buyer-led review with qualified local authorities or advisers.
