Bottled Water Filling Line Utility Requirements

Utility planning should be based on the final equipment list, not a generic factory estimate. Power, compressed air, process water, drainage and any bottle-blowing, labeling or packing utilities need defined consumption points and supplier/buyer boundaries.

Process/filling water Required quality, pressure, temperature and flow at interface. Treatment output, tank/buffer and hygienic piping. Assuming treatment capacity equals usable filler supply.
Rinse/CIP water Consumption and recovery assumptions where applicable. Supply, return and disposal plan. No drain capacity near wet machines.
Steam/heat Requirement for selected sleeve label or pack process if any. Local generation, pressure and safe routing. Choosing equipment before checking utility availability.
Drainage Drain points and expected discharge conditions. Floor slope, drain capacity and local treatment rules. Placing drains after the layout is fixed.

Define the Interface Boundary

For every utility, identify the supplier connection point and the buyer-side generation, distribution and installation work. Mark pressure, flow, connection size, location and quality requirement on the approved layout or utility drawing.

  • Power is stable and matches machine design.
  • Air pressure and air quality are available at the equipment under load.
  • Treated water quality and flow are available at the agreed interface.
  • Drains are open, accessible and tested in wet areas.
  • All connection work is completed without blocking service access.
  • Local operators know isolation points and basic safety procedures.

Verify Site Capacity Before Shipping Release

A site-readiness review should compare supplier requirements with measured or documented site conditions. The project team should record deviations and closure evidence before installation personnel and equipment arrive.

Electrical Voltage, frequency, phase, available capacity, protection, grounding and connection point. Does the site match every machine and support-system requirement?
Compressed air Available flow, pressure range, air quality, dew point basis, receiver and pipe route. Can simultaneous users operate without unacceptable pressure loss?
Water Source quality, available flow and pressure, storage, treatment plan and connection point. Are production, cleaning and service demands separated and covered?
Cooling Supply and return conditions, heat rejection, water quality and pipe route where applicable. Does the chiller or cooling system cover the confirmed package loads?
Drainage Floor levels, channel or point drains, capacity, segregation and discharge approval. Can normal, cleaning and reject flows be handled safely?
Environment Temperature, humidity, ventilation, dust control, lighting and equipment-room conditions. Are the stated machine and material operating conditions maintained?
Backup and stability Generator or backup strategy, power quality and restart procedure where required. How will sensitive processes and controls respond to an interruption?

Can utility requirements be confirmed before the equipment list?

Only approximately. Final loads, pressures, flows and connection points should come from the confirmed machine and layout scope.

Does bottle blowing change the compressed-air plan?

Yes. PET bottle blowing can be a major compressed-air user and should be evaluated separately from normal pneumatic machine demand.

Who supplies utility piping and cables?

The boundary varies by order. It should be written in the quotation and shown at the agreed machine connection points.

Why should drainage be planned early?

Rinsing, cleaning and wet operation require suitable drain locations and floor conditions. Late changes can affect machine placement and civil work.

How should filling line utility requirements be confirmed before shipping?

Use a controlled utility schedule for each equipment package and compare it with measured or documented site capacity. Confirm voltage, frequency, phase, power, compressed-air conditions, water, cooling, drainage, environment, connection points and responsibility for every local support system.
